Dr. Patricia Mathes-Burnett says, “My life’s work is how to best educate our
children. As a mom, I wanted excellence in education and was sadly disappointed
by my children’s educational experiences. My children moved to Yorktown because I
saw Yorktown applying the most up to date research on student learning to ensure

I really am amazed at the system you have developed. The options for students, parents, and teachers really are incredible. It seems that you have recognized all of the problems with the traditional school system and found a solution for everything. There has been so much criticism of public schools, but few have come up with real and effective solutions. Your group has my genuine admiration for coming up with an outstanding alternative.
