Before becoming a Senior Partner Teacher, Ruth Cheatham was already a seasoned educator with experience at the university, community college, high school and middle school levels. She was also a mom looking for the best education her child could receive.

Before becoming a Senior Partner Teacher, Ruth Cheatham was already a seasoned educator with experience at the university, community college, high school and middle school levels. She was also a mom looking for the best education her child could receive. This led her to enroll her child and become a new Senior Partner Teacher at Yorktown. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Literature from The Lindenwood Colleges in St. Charles, Missouri on a full academic scholarship. There she was recognized as the Outstanding Graduate in the English Department with a double major in English and History. She also has a Master of Arts in Literature from St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri on a full academic scholarship. She was a Teaching and Research Assistant to Dr. William McAvoy, editor, The New Variorum Edition of “Twelfth Night”. She also has additional training at SMU’s Talented and Gifted Program including: 6 Traits Writing Master Teacher; SmartBoard Master Teacher; iEARN Master Teacher and is an experienced AP instructor and SAT tutor. Before becoming a teacher, Mrs. Cheatham started her career as an award winning writer and business executive at the Kansas City Star and The Fort-Worth Star Telegram. She has many years of successful sales experience with Johnson and Johnson (named Rookie of the year), Ralph Lauren and Christian Dior. Mrs. Cheatham has excellent teaching credentials, maturity and the real world experience that we find makes excellent Senior Partner Teachers.
