Yorktown students and parents are customers to be served with a superior educational product. |
|
Branding Schools do some local reputation management. |
The Yorktown Education brand will stand for excellent education worldwide. Yorktown graduates will be preferred by colleges and hiring organizations – the Harvard of K-12 education. |
| Achievement Focus The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) creates a focus on the worst students by ethnic category while the vast majority of students suffer. |
Yorktown prepares our children to thrive and prosper in a free-market world. They will have all the tools to make informed choices about their lives with the abilities to achieve in their chosen areas. Yorktown addresses each child individually, so all children reach their potential; unlike the exsisting education model of “one size fits all”. |
| School Quality Parents seeking better futures for their children have grown private school enrollment to 12% of K-12 students while spending an addition $10,600 per academic year in tuition according to the US Dept. of Education. |
Yorktown graduates complete 2 years of college credit when 18 years old. Yorktown’s mastery based program should give graduates grade “A” skills in all core areas. |

School Ranking Newsweek Magazine ranks the top 1,300 school in the country (based on the AP tests) out of 15,472 high schools |
Yorktown Education's school system would be the # 1 school system in the United States, under Newsweek’s ranking method. |
| Flexible Learning, Days and Hours All students learn the same thing, at the same time, the same way. Schools set people’s annual calendars. School days, hours and lessons are dictated from a central authority with little flexibility. Teachers, students and their parents have their lives revolving around the school calendar. |
Yorktown individually paces each student. Enrollment is quarterly, not annual. Parents choose what days their students go to school and what hours they want to attend. Schools are open all year round from 7am to 7pm. Parents can take any day, days or hours off without educational impact. |
| Students' Learning Experience
Students sit in classroom listening to teachers lecture in a “sage on a stage” method that is 2,000 years old. This is boring and ineffective; see the Ben Stein video from “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” for the current learning experience. |
Yorktown students work in a custom tailored educational experience primarily with computer delivery, group work and other educational methodology. Students fully learn and understand concepts and material on a mastery basis. |
| Grade Levels
Students in 7th grade are taught 7th grade English, 7th grade math, etc. regardless of their learning capacity, ability or prior instruction. |
Yorktown students learn at their own individual grade level for each topic. They can be in 6th grade English and 10th grade math and progress rapidly while keeping learning interesting. |
| Course Grades
The knowledge is paraded past the student, and he or she is graded based on how much they can grab. |
Yorktown uses a mastery-based system to improve student’s learning. This means a student learns all the material at a grade A level. Yorktown does not “grade” courses to pass along kids. |
| Costs
Public school’s average cost is $11,400 per student academic year nationally. These are government run subsidized operations. Private schools average $10,600 per academic year. |
Yorktown costs $4,170 per academic year or $695 per month. Students may pick which quarters they attend or attend all calendar year. Membership is required and students are required to provide their own laptop. |
|
Drugs, Sex and Discipline
|
Yorktown does not allow drugs or sexual activity. Students are engaged in active learning which lowers problems. Membership will be forfeited if students are unwilling or unable to comply with policies. Yorktown Education is a private school designed to maintain a superior educational product serving students and parents. |
